Brimstone and Parsnips !!

Finally, finally had my first bona fide butterfly of 2007 with a very smart male Brimstone this afternoon near Stanton Under Bardon. The other night I potted a micro which turns out to be 672 Parsnip Moth Depressaria pastinacella. New for me and the garden so very happy with that.

Scotland versus Italy this evening !! Come on Scotland the Brave !!!!

Also, you'd love the birds in Canada - I've seen
woolly woodpecker
Grackle
Orials by the dozen
Blue Heron
Cardinals
Blue Jays (natch)
Chickedees by the dozen ( very cheeky & friendly too)
Canada geese (yawn)
and the best : humming birds - wow, they're awesome.
AS for mammals - we have the chipmonk, groundhog and not forgetting the bears (up north), also the occasional turtle.

Honestly, Russ, you should try and get out there with the family, they'd love to have you and their propery goes right down to the River Grand, check it out: it goes all the way through Ontario.

It's wicked, y'all should go if you can,

lottsa luv, Mel xxxx
