Urban Birding

My new job is located just north of the city centre in Belgrave, near the Space Centre for those that know the area. During my lunch break I've taken towards wandering along hte river and through Belgrave Hall Gardens. I used to work in this neck of the woods years ago and remember Shag and Woodcock being found back then. I must say that I'm seeing loads of good common stuff. Every day there's Great Spotted Woodpecker, Sparrowhawk, Treecreeper and Nuthatch. Plenty of Fieldfare and Redwing around at the mo as well, not to mention stacks of Long Tailed Tit and Goldcrest. I'm confident that Lesser Spotted will put in appearance any time now. Watch this space. Time wise, really busy. I'm working on a mega exciting project at the moment. I won't reveal toooooo many details at present but involves a big contribution to a forthcoming publication which they are paying me for. Bless 'em........
