Interesting website. I was slightly concerned when i clicked on the 'pie night' link and was disturbed to find the picture on that link http://www.bricklayersarms.net/pie%20night.htm

Can you check out Russ whether the 'pies' look like the one in the picture which looking at it is NOT a pie, merely a bit of stew with a flaky pastry biscuit on top or proper homemade pies with an integral pastry crust? I hate it when you order a pie in a pub these days to be served with the kind of lazy food depicted. My only hope given that the photo also shows a pint of Belhaven Best is that it's a library shot and not an actual 'pie shot.'

I can assure you that it is a library shot John. I have to admit that I have sampled the pies (largely beacuse I'm a fish eating veggie) but I understand that they are very good. The food on the whole is first rate, fresh and home cooked but I will do a little further investigation for you......
