White Throated Needletail

No, one of these hasn't been around Belgrave on any given lunchtime this week but I was nosing through the latest British Birds Rarities Committee 'work in progress' this morning and saw the following entry -

18th August 2009 15 White-throated Needletail, Essex, Saffron Walden

15!!! Get out of here.....

In the days when I used to subscribe to BB that was always the best bit about the rarities report - having a good laugh at the list of records 'not accepted'!

There usually are one or two good 'uns to smile about. You have to wonder on the circumstances that convince people that they have seen stuff like this......
